Milestones & Memories

A little bit about us…

We are two sisters, Laurel Hubber and Lea Callaghan.

We were raised along the Grand River (along with our younger brother) in a small town just south of Hamilton, Ontario. Our house was kind of grand central station when it came to parties, family gatherings and community social events. Our parents were warm and generous hosts who entertained a lot! They showed us not only how to throw a fun party, but also taught us about the significance of traditions, the art of hospitality, and the positive impact a “well-hosted” gathering can have on a group of friends, family members and neighbours.

Flash forward 30+ years to where we have now organized and hosted countless gatherings and parties of our own – birthday and anniversary parties, retirement celebrations, neighbourhood gatherings… you name it, we’ve hosted it!

Through all these gatherings, we’ve noticed something pretty incredible. Most people like getting together with others to celebrate or mark a special occasion. But they LOVE being well-hosted! Even if they’re not able to articulate what was “so special” about the gathering, they can feel the difference. We hear it time and time again in the words of thanks and feedback we receive.

We think this is a good thing. We think the world needs more of this. This feeling of connection and community. Of being well-hosted. Of feeling celebrated and seen.

So, we’ve decided to expand beyond our personal circles and start helping new friends host gatherings that are more meaningful and memorable.

If you have a milestone event coming up and are looking for some support and creative inspiration, please be in touch! We welcome all inquiries - from wherever you are in the world - and will be excited to hear about your event!

“Take your milestone event to the next level. If you are seeking to elevate the party from the typical mingle and small talk, Lea and Laurel will engage your guests and bring out the fun in people. We’ve had a blast at themed based parties and road trips. Their personalities and passion, will ensure your event will be talked about for years to come. Great ideas, excellent execution!”

My family wanted to throw a retirement party for me and asked for my input. This was an important gathering for me as it represented the culmination of 30 years in a career I loved – it had to be special. I wanted more than the usual mundane fare of drinks, chit chat and nice words and I knew I couldn’t just throw my friends together and hope that a meaningful outcome would occur. I knew it would take purposeful planning.

I turned to Laurel for her wisdom and insights. She listened, made suggestions and helped me host a fantastic party. It was everything I could have hoped for; one in which my guests laughed, cried, connected, got nostalgic and deepened their friendships. There were ice breakers, discussion starters, face to face conversations, community building and of course, some great food. This special occasion offered not only an opportunity for me to celebrate but also to honour a group of amazing women who had supported and loved me over the years. I very much appreciated that the focus was not just on me, but also intentionally included my friends in a significant way.

Thank you notes proved to be just one more confirmation of a wonderful celebration enjoyed by all who attended.

Thanks to Laurel, I have memories to last a lifetime.
